Plastic sim cards have been around for quite some time now. They have been of help but let's talk of their disadvantages. One. If it gets damaged or lost you have to buy a new one. Do I have to talk of loss of data if you hadn't backed up your contacts for example? Two. There are times when you need services from various operators and with the sim card, you have to keep a number of them and keep swapping. We could go on and on but why bother? Here comes the Esim.

Electronic sim cards unlike the plastic sim cards are embedded on the device. They will be non-removable and this will ensure rare cases of damage. The Esim is currently being utilized in creation of Internet Of Things devices. It will also be utilized in the upcoming Always Connected PC's.

So what are there noted advantages? They are tiny hence will allow for slimmer devices. The Esim is rewritable hence there will be no need to carry many sim cards from various operators.
